How can i find a proxy sever port number and the proxy server IP address?

I know how to implement the substitute server in the menu in Internet Explorer: Extra, Internetoptions, Connections, etc. etc. But during the sure impulse i have to fill in the IP residence as well as the series of the pier of the substitute server though i do not know where to find it. Sorry if this is the foolish question.
